Analysis of the characteristics of the film coating of industrial filter cloth?

Dec 13, 2021

The membrane-coated filter material of the filter cloth is a layer of high-porosity membrane with a thickness of less than 0.1mm, and its pore size can be precisely controlled through the manufacturing process. For smoke and dust filtration, the film needs to be laminated to the base fabric to make it strong enough to be easy to use. The base fabric is non-woven or synthetic fiber. At present, the coated filter material has become one of the filter materials with a wide range of industrial applications.

When installing the filter cloth, ensure that the filter cloth on the plate frame is flat and fixed to avoid damage to the filter cloth when the plate frame is compressed due to the filter cloth being discounted. The time for the filter cake to adhere to the filter cloth should not be too long, as too long will cause the filter cloth to deform and sag. When unloading the filter cake, shovel the filter cake in the direction of the filter cloth.

Industrial filter cloth coating technology is mainly used in filtration and separation in the medical and pharmaceutical industries, food, beverage and wine industries, cosmetics manufacturing, electronics, energy, chemical, aviation, transportation and other fields. In terms of environmental protection, it is mainly used for sewage treatment, smoke purification, personal protection, and filtration and separation of suspended solids in gas and liquid.

Industrial filter cloth coated filter media are classified into microfiltration, ultrafiltration, nanofiltration and reverse osmosis according to their functions. Examples of microfiltration separation of μm level, ultrafiltration separation of smaller particles to molecules, nanofiltration separation of molecules, and reverse osmosis separation of smaller molecules. Soot filtration generally belongs to the range of nanometers and above, that is, it only requires the purification of particles larger than molecules. Therefore, microfiltration membranes are often used.

The traditional fiber filter material has obvious internal filtering characteristics, and the particles are attached to the fiber of the filter cloth. The membrane filter material is surface filtration, and the pore size of the microfiltration membrane filter material is quite uniform. The particles settle on the surface of the coating film and the surface of the particles, and few particles can enter the inside of the coating film. The difference between traditional fiber filter material and membrane filter material lies in the size distribution of voids. Compared with traditional fiber filter media, the pore size distribution range of the membrane filter media is very narrow, that is, the geometric standard deviation is very small.
